the hallmark picture of 2020
we talk about how it’s hard to breathe in our masks. how it’s a virus that attacks that very thing. just like george floyd and eric garner shouted i can’t breathe, they were ignored. the rest of america shouts it and is ignored. the earth shouts it as wildfires and carbon emissions plunge our air quality into “extremely unhealthy” and it is ignored.
for many, they take to the streets in protests. they’ve had enough. for others, they wonder about their future’s prospects, their children’s prospects, and the world’s future as they submitted a vote. bless our choices.
somehow, i believe this was a needed awakening and call to action. i’ve learned and reflected so much. spent so much time in nature. grown and developed my ideas of my human consciousness.
there is a larger focus on climate change, human rights, black lives matters, and systemic change. we are more aware of our political systems and systems that were designed. i see many peers taking on hobbies or side projects to do what they want and love. many have reflected on their lives and what is truly important to them.
it’s inspiring, the change we are tumbling in. we created it. we are welcoming the new.
